When Abel was born, I thought it would be exactly (or easier) the same when I had Jayden. I was so wrong. Not only is experience the complete opposite but I also had to relearn how to be a mom to a baby.

One major difference was that Abel was diagnosed with baby reflux. Reflux is the word to describe what happens when the stomach contents (food or milk) come back up into the mouth. Baby reflux happens because the babies digestive system hasn't properly developed yet. When the babies stomach is full they tend to burp and spit up, which is normal. However, if your baby is projectile vomiting, constantly feeding and not gaining any weight then it's probably reflux.
With every feed, I would use a new burping cloth. I probably used 5 a day! Abels reflux was that bad! When I would burp Abel, he would miss the burping cloth and I would end up with puke all over my clothes! The worse was when I had to burp Abel in public, I would literally have to pack extra clothes just in case because I didn't want to walk around in public smelling like throw up.

| Woven Path Burpshawl |
Alas, I came across www.burpnecessity.com (on Instagram of course) and found my solution to all that laundry !
Burp Necessity, was created by Kathy Fitzgerald, who was sick and tired of using small, unflattering and inconvenient burp cloths that never stayed on. These burp shawls are not only trendy, but actually do their job. The burp shawls, sit on both my shoulders, covering my upper back( I'm 5'3 tall) as well as the front of my chest and then some. T O N S of coverage that isn't offered by normal burping cloths (usually just one shoulder).
